About the role
Katalyst is growing. We are looking for a backend engineer to help design and ship the APIs, billing flows, and data services behind Hub and Payments. You will work with a small team, own features end to end, and keep the platform reliable for shops that cannot afford downtime.
What you’ll do
- Design and implement APIs for checkout, company provisioning, and day-to-day shop operations.
- Work with product and frontend to ship clear, well-tested features.
- Improve reliability, observability, and performance across payments and CRM services.
- Review code, write documentation, and help the team raise the quality bar.
What we’re looking for
- Experience building production APIs in PHP, Node, or a similar backend language.
- Comfort with relational data, integrations, and third-party payment or CRM systems.
- Clear written communication and a bias toward simple, maintainable solutions.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, full-time role.
Nice to have
- Laravel, payment processors, or prior work in automotive / collision repair software.
- Experience with webhooks, background jobs, and multi-tenant SaaS.
